The Challenge

The Challenge

This was not a typical client brief. The commission came directly from a Major of The 105 Infantry Battalion (Territorial Army) Rajputana Rifles, and the project was shaped in consultation with the Commanding Officer and his vision for the film. The event being documented was significant, a celebration of the battalion's achievements, and the resulting video needed to honour that weight appropriately.

Working with the Indian Army means working within a specific framework. Content created for defence institutions falls under the guidelines of the Additional Directorate General of Strategic Communication (ADG SC), and every creative decision had to be made with that responsibility in mind. There was no room for creative indulgence that didn't serve the institution.

The Solution

The process began with a direct conversation with the CO to understand what the film needed to accomplish and what it needed to feel like. From there, the edit was built to reflect both the pride of the moment and the seriousness of the institution it represented.

Working alongside various personnel from the battalion, the footage was shaped into a film that communicated achievement, camaraderie, and institutional identity. Pacing, music, and structure were all handled with the knowledge that this was not content for social media performance. It was a record of a moment that mattered to the people who had earned it.

Every decision was made in compliance with the strategic communication guidelines provided, ensuring the final film was not just well-crafted but appropriately positioned.

What was built

Full video edit for an official battalion event film. Collaborative process involving direct coordination with the Commanding Officer and battalion personnel. Creative execution within the framework of Indian Army strategic communication guidelines.

Result

A film the battalion could stand behind. For the people who had built the achievements being celebrated, the video gave those moments permanence and the presentation they deserved. One of the more uncommon projects in the portfolio, and one of the most memorable for exactly that reason.
